March Motivation
2015. március 04., szerda 02:0410 months has passed in what seems like a flash since my last blog and I don’t have a great deal to report poker-wise hence my absence. That is however going to change from now as there is going to be a nice upswing and decent volume to chronicle!
The other main focus of this blog will be as usual, lifestyle. I’ve been lazy all across the board pretty much in recent times; instead of walking and jogging everywhere I now drive and have also certainly slacked with diet and gym work despite maintaining playing a lot of sports regularly.
The past 10 months has seen a number of decent MTT scores looking back now but I’ve struggled to stay far ahead financially by slacking with volume/poor motivation from diet being off point and generally running bad and thinking fuck playing poker. Highlights however have included:
- 4th Sunday Major - $12,000
- 3rd Sunday Brawl - $11,000
- 3rd Sunday Supersonic - $25,000
- 1st Monday €100 Cubed - $12,820.90
- 1st Sunday Big Ben - $17,568
- 3rd Sunday T-Rex - $8469.75
- 5th Sunday $100 Turbo Cubed - $5318.50
- 1st Big $11 - $11,969.43
- 9th Super Tuesday - $9412.20
and most significantly:
- 5th Sunday Million - $58,321.20
We’ve lost the french market now though so Stars.fr is off the table and although listing them like this makes the best part of a year look decent these results aren’t good enough; there needs to be plenty of similar numbers up there too, some 6 figure ones would be very much welcome too! WCOOP went by without much to report and I barely touched TCOOP due to a general meh attitude to grinding which is poor form.
Theres a lot I want to do personally in terms of poker and life in the upcoming months, especially in terms of skill levels at sports and general gym work so this post is me personally kicking myself up the arse. I don’t want to go into much detail about personal goals but I do want to recreate a challenge I undertook which I’m struggling to believe was 2 and a half years back now:

So, $500 from HU SnGs a day for the rest of the month. There seems to be plenty of action between $15-$60 4mans from what I’ve seen other the past couple of days so this should be fun. I have every confidence that I can make this but obviously won’t play if I feel I’m not going to play great etc. but I’m hoping this ingrains a nice sense of routine in me which has seemingly been missing recently.
I should add that I hammered in the volume playing HU hyper PLO SnGs over January this year as a nice new and fun discipline to try. I was on SNE pace for the first couple of weeks of the year and are currently not too far off making normal Supernova for the year already. The FPP cash rewards made a really nice incentive to grind so I’m hoping the allure of making some serious VPP and the output of regular cash bonuses and stellar rewards keeps my motivation up to.
Outside of poker I want to get my diet right for me once again which is very similar to my old paleo diet I stuck religiously too at the end of 2013/start of 2014. Nothing too adventurous but its a start….back at the end of March.
Good health,
Luke
