DRAGAR WINS €2k TURBO; OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST NORTHUG PLACES 7TH
Peter Dragar of Hungary nabbed a victory in Event 11 - €2,000 NL Turbo Monday night, topping a 66-player field with a final table of Olympic proportions. Dragar collected €44,800 for his efforts (a career best), but not before racing past two-time Winter Olympic gold-medalist Petter Northug, who earned a spot at a challenging eight-handed final table and ultimately finished in 7th place (€5,800). The Norwegian cross-country skier is relatively new to the live poker scene, though he did manage a cash in the 2010 WSOP Main Event (653rd - $21,327).
Atanas Gueorguiev, who's second on Bulgaria's all-time money list, grinded out a 3rd place finish worth €16,650. Yulius Sepman from Russia, runner-up in a $2k Turbo side event at the PCA, finished in 4th place (€12,150), and Aneris Adomkevicius -- runner-up at IPT San Remo and fourth on Lithuania's all-time money list -- finished in 8th place, earning €5,120.
Final Table Payouts:
1. Peter Dragar, Hungary - € 44,800
2. Ricardo Tavares, Brazil - € 28,170
3. Atanas Gueorguiev, Bulgaria - € 16,650
4. Yulius Sepman, Russia - € 12,150
