I'm drawn more to interesting people than great poker players. Many of the folks I find most interesting have been guests on my podcast. Tommy Angelo and Ed Miller come to mind as really good authors/teachers. Jason Strasser was really influential in my early development as a player. Vanessa Selbst's Tournamentality series shaped my thinking on MTTs. Cole South, Phil Galfond, Brian Hastings, and Scott Augustine made some of my favorite poker videos.
One of my best stories is also one of the best and most dramatic hands I've playedWhat is your favourite(funniest) story at the tables/in your life?
One of the funnier hands I've played
This one has to do with tilt
Don't underestimate your opponents
Can't say I think much about him one way or the other. His approach to poker and BRM is certainly very different from my own! What do you think about Isildur?
I haven't traveled as much as I've liked, and I've liked just about everywhere I've been. I know it's a lame answer but it's so hard to compare them. I enjoy experiencing different places and I try not to judge and rate them, just take them for what they are. What is your favourite country? Why?
I spent a few months in Europe this time last year and got to see a lot of Germany and the Netherlands plus a few other countries. Switzerland was probably the most beautiful but it's SO expensive. I didn't get further east than Prague but I'd love to see more of Eastern Europe. I'm a dork for castles and that kind of stuff, which I know they are like probably no big deal for a Hungarian but we have nothing like that in America!
Recently I bought a wok and have gotten really into Chinese/Thai cooking. Nothing complicated, mostly just stir fries. I like Indian food a lot, too. Fish Tikka Masala with warm buttery Naan sounds pretty good right now. What is your favourite food?
Let's see, I mentioned cooking already. I like traveling and doing things outdoors. Actually for about two years my girlfriend and I were just traveling around the United States, didn't have an apartment or anything. We did a lot of camping and stayed at hotels or went to coffee shops when I wanted to play poker. We went to a lot of the national parks and also saw some cool smaller cities. I've been all over the continental US but never to Alaska or Hawaii. What is your hobby? What do you do in your free time?
I read a lot, both fiction and non-fiction. Sometimes I play video games. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
Probably teaching or doing something else in education. I used to do a lot of volunteer work in high schools, I think the profile of me that's linked in the OP includes some information about that. It's been a long time since I worked for anyone, and it does get harder and harder to imagine an office and a boss.
Thanks for all the questions everyone! I'm going to sleep now but I'll check in again in the morning and throughout the day tomorrow.
Jó éjszakát!
Would you recommend a US based novice MTT player to wait for the online legislation or would you say pack the Bankroll and hit Canada or wherever its legal.
( I have a 2 years old baby ) so its harder for us...
Big Thanks for doing the well
Zsolt from Chicago
Hi Andrew,
is there any poker book you would suggest us to read? Which one is your favorite?
Assuming you have 8 hours for poker in a day, how would you use this 8 hours? (How would you divide this between playing, watching poker education videos, discussing hands etc.)
What do you think about the SNE grinders? Do you admire them or you think they are just guys who will burn out quickly?
What do you think about Hungarian poker players?
-You raised tens on a lousy three-flush?
-That's what it's all about, isn't it? Making the wrong move at a right time.
(The Cincinnati Kid)
Thanks for the answers below.
I had 2 more questions and I truly leave space for others, I promise.
1.What is really happenning in the US with poker players? I mean, we can see and read what is happenning with the well known players, but what can the average player, grinder do? Do they sit and wiat for their money? And did they get it or not? How does that DOJ-moneyback thing work? What do you think: these grinders gonna play again poker when it will be legalized or they won't?
2 .I really like to play MTTs and MTSNGs, but my scores are not very well in these type of games than HUSNGs. But i dont like to play HUSNGs,it is too boring for me.But in MTTs and MTSNgs in couldnt reach a normal score since I playing. Normal is not that to win Sunday Million or Sunday Storm. If you were me, what would you do in these situtation? Would you force to play MTTs and MTSNGs or would you play HUSNGs?

If you are a novice, ie not a professional, I don't know why you'd even consider leaving your family and/or uprooting your family to move to a different country. It's one thing if poker has been your source of income for a while and the rug is suddenly pulled out from underneath you, but if you're just aspiring to go pro, now seems like a crazy time in your life to try to make that move.
I mentioned my favorite authors above, and you can find a bunch of my reviews at Thinking Poker: Poker Book Reviews. I guess Elements of Poker and Small-Stakes No Limit Hold 'Em are the books I recommend the most.
30 - 60 minutes: review things you want to work on today and set goals, read or watch a video, swap ideas with a friend, get into mindset to playAssuming you have 8 hours for poker in a day, how would you use this 8 hours? (How would you divide this between playing, watching poker education videos, discussing hands etc.)
2 hours: play
take a break

2 hours: play
take a short break (10 - 15 minutes)
60 - 120 minutes: review the session, pick some hands to discuss with a friend, decide what you still need to work on
Varies a lot from player to player, there are different ways to make SNE. I admire players who make smart decisions about how to get the most out of what they do with the least amount of time/effort. I think people who just play compulsively because they don't know what else to do with themselves and feel like for instance they have to play every single MTT running are at risk of burning out. It always amazed me to see pro MTT players playing a $5 MTT at the same time as a $500 MTT.What do you think about the SNE grinders? Do you admire them or you think they are just guys who will burn out quickly?
I like the one I know! What do you think about Hungarian poker players?
Hey Andrew, thanks for doing the well for us!
I suppose you live in the US now, but isn't it an alternative for you to live and settle for example, in Europe? We know a few American pros who chose this and they're quite happy with their decision...
Phil Ivey just won his 9th WSOP title. How do you feel about that as a live tournament player?
What do you think about Andre Coimbra's chances of doing his challenge? Do you think it's possible for him to finish it, or it's too early to say?

They can play go play live, they can play on the US-only sites, they can leave the country, or they can get a job. Plenty of people have done each of those things.
In terms of getting FTP funds back from the DOJ, there's nothing to do but wait. I imagine anyone who was going to sell their money would have done. Beyond that there's nothing to do but wait - we still don't really know what the process will be for getting the money back.
I think the ones who went to get jobs probably won't return to poker but the rest will surely be back on PokerStars as soon as they can.
Can't you do both? Keep playing the game you're already making money at but pick a few MTTs to play or maybe set aside one day a week for studying and playing MTTs. Some of the highest value opportunities are MTTs, so even if you never become a full-time MTT player, it's good to know what you are doing so that you can play things like the Sunday Million and SCOOP/WCOOP.2 .I really like to play MTTs and MTSNGs, but my scores are not very well in these type of games than HUSNGs.
