I am a German poker player that wants to move to another country because of the tax and legal situation concerning online poker in Germany.

Hungary is on the list of countries I might move to.
Now I have important questions:

1) Is it even legal to play online poker in Hungary?
2) Do professional poker players have to pay taxes in Hungary?
3) Do you have links on where I can get information about questions 1 and 2?

Ich bin ein deutscher Pokerspieler, der in ein anderes Land ziehen möchte, wegen der Gesetzes- und Steuerlage in Deutschland.

Ungarn ist auf der Liste der Lände, die in Frage kommen.
Jetzt habe ich wichtige Fragen:

1) Ist es legal in Ungarn online Poker zu spielen?
2) Müssen professionelle Pokerspieler Steuern bezahlen?
3) Hat jemand Internetlinks mit Informationen zu Fragen 1 und 2?

Funny to read a post like this. :-)

First of all Hungary is a really nice place to come. But regarding the online poker legislation scene, it is not much better than in any other typical European country. Although, not so bad, as in Germany.

The online poker is not prohibited in Hungary. According to the Hungarian Tax Bureau you should pay your taxes if you are an overall winner in this game. But of course, nobody pays it...

We have a topic regarding these questions, but it is in Hungarian language.
